We want you to be satisfied with our services. This Refund Policy explains when and how refunds are available for Anchor Filings services. Because our services involve government filings with non-refundable fees, refund eligibility depends on the status of your order.
1. Cancellation Before Filing
Full Refund
If you cancel your order before we have submitted any documents to a government agency or begun substantive work on your filing, you are entitled to a full refund of the amount paid.
How to Cancel
To cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible:
Include your order number and the reason for cancellation. We will confirm the cancellation status within one business day.
2. Cancellation After Filing
Government Fees Are Non-Refundable
Once we submit a filing to a government agency, the government fees included in your service price are non-refundable because the agency has already collected them. These include:

Service Fee Refund
If your filing has been submitted but is still pending with the government agency, we may issue a refund of the service fee portion (total price minus the government fee) at our discretion, depending on the circumstances.
3. Refund by Service Type
3.1 Business Formation (LLC, Corporation, Nonprofit)
- Before filing: Full refund.
- After filing, before approval: Refund of service fee only; government fee is non-refundable.
- After approval: No refund. The entity has been legally formed.
- Name rejection: If the DFI rejects your chosen name, we will work with you to select an alternative name and refile at no additional charge. If you choose not to proceed, we will refund the service fee portion.
3.2 EIN / Federal Tax ID
- Before filing: Full refund.
- After filing: No refund (no government fee involved; however, once submitted, the IRS processes the application and an EIN is assigned).
- Rejection due to IRS records mismatch: We will refile once with corrected information at no additional charge if you provide the corrected details within 30 days.
3.3 Trademark Registration
- Before filing: Full refund.
- After filing: Refund of service fee ($599) only; the $350 USPTO filing fee per class is non-refundable. (USPTO fee revised under the January 18, 2025 fee restructure.)
- Office action issued: No refund for the original filing. Office action response service ($299) is a separate charge.
- Registration refused by USPTO: We are not responsible for refunds if the USPTO ultimately refuses registration, as this is a government decision outside our control.
3.4 Registered Agent Service
- Before service period begins: Full refund.
- During the service year: No prorated refunds for partial years. If you cancel mid-year, service continues through the end of the paid period.
- Renewal: Cancel at least 30 days before your renewal date to avoid being charged for the next year.
3.5 Compliance Pro
- Before service period begins: Full refund.
- During the service year: If the annual report has not yet been filed, we will refund the service fee minus any government fee already paid ($25 WI annual report fee). If the annual report has been filed, no refund.
- Renewal: Cancel at least 30 days before your renewal date.
3.6 Domain Services
- Domain Search & Recommendation ($49): Full refund if the search report has not yet been delivered. No refund after delivery.
- Domain Registration (self-service via Stripe): Domain registrations are non-refundable once the registration has been accepted by the registry. The wholesale fee paid to the registry/registrar for a registered domain cannot be reclaimed by Anchor Filings, and the domain is yours to keep, transfer, or let expire as you choose.
- If your registration is successful: the charge is final and the domain is yours.
- If your registration is unsuccessful (registry rejection, name conflict, technical failure, etc.): you will be refunded in full to your original payment method. If the charge has not yet settled, you simply will not be charged. In short — if we get the domain, you pay; if we don't, you don't.
- Domain Management ($59/yr): Cancel at least 30 days before renewal. No prorated refunds for partial years.
3.7 Other One-Time Services
For DBA registrations, amendments, dissolutions, EIN updates, BOI filings, certificates of good standing, and operating agreements:
- Before filing/delivery: Full refund.
- After filing/delivery: Government fee portion (if any) is non-refundable. Service fee may be refunded at our discretion.
3.8 Bundle Packages
Bundles (Formation + Compliance, Business Launch, Brand Protection) are priced at a discount over individual services. If you cancel a bundle:
- Before any work begins: Full refund of the bundle price.
- After some services are completed: Refund is calculated as the bundle price minus the individual retail price of each completed service, minus any non-refundable government fees.
4. How Refunds Are Processed
- Approved refunds are processed within 5–7 business days.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
- You will receive an email confirmation when the refund is processed.
- Bank processing times may add 3–5 additional business days before the refund appears on your statement.
5. Service Credits
In some cases, we may offer a service credit toward a future order instead of a cash refund. Service credits do not expire and are applied to your Anchor Filings account. Service credits are non-transferable and have no cash value.
6. Errors on Our Part
If an error in our work results in a rejected filing, incorrect document, or other issue that is clearly our fault (not caused by incorrect information you provided), we will:
- Correct the error and refile at no additional charge, including any additional government fees
- If correction is not possible, issue a full refund of the service price including government fees
